There is, I feel, a great deal of theological symbolism between the Primus and a Primus stove. For example:

Flames coming out of the top - good image of Pentecost and the Holy Spirit.

Alcohol required to get them started - waiting for the (methylated) spirit to do its work!

When pumped up provides both heat and light.

I am sure there are others...

They seldom explode. I think this is terribly important and is, of course, implicit in the idea of our Primus being 'safe' in Glasgow.

It's that sort of deliberate ambiguity which makes me wonder if I didn't miss the opportunity to become a poet. I mean I have a whole lot of battered tweed jackets and a really good head of hair.
